Many duties assigned by authoritarians to subordinates in exchange
for status in the social hierarchy were molt in the form of candles.
Complete the request from the artist, the audience will earn free time
to spend with themself and a space to display their art in the form of melted wax.
After contemplating the definition of a home for more than two weeks, I have realized my home was separated in to two parts. Each part on the other side of the city. One part I quit calling it home. The other, I dare not call it home yet.
I want to go on an urban pilgrimage in a city where the streets were not made to walk on foot. I believe the journey can connect these two imperfect places together and provide me some kind of answer.
Important landmarks, street names, alleys - are all scattered as fragments in my memory.
Before beginning the journey, My friend asked me in wonder - Why can’t you remember the directions back home?
I blame Bangkok.
It’s ironic that I have to ask strangers for directions to get back to a place where I’m most familiar with.
The rules that was used in the school
reflect political situation of the state in that moment very well.
To choose among resistance, compliance and ignorace,
each student gain an experience about their rigths
and realize about their role in the society differently.
And these experience will be passed down to the next generations of Thai student.
FROM THE SKY
These days have been a fierce discussion on various topics everywhere. This cause people to question about rights and freedom of Thai citizen in every status. Even though, government's attempts to separate and give privilege to just some group of people appear distinctly.
Human love has a lot of barricades which created by human themself. This performance intended to point out the vulnerability of those obstacles that could be easily destroyed, and yet are the heaviest barricade between us all.
I LOVE MY JOB
Some people have decided to cut the flowers on their back, so they can live their normal life. Some people choose to sacrifice their bodies to make the flowers grow.
This performance aims to point out the disconnection between one’s well-being and what they have created.
While you appreciate the beautiful blooming flowers, please don’t forget to look down and take notice of the dirty, decaying body that nourishes those flowers as well.
THIS KIND OF LOVE
The violent crackdown by the government used against peaceful demonstrators on 16th October shed light on the cruelty of Thai authorities, who militaristically enforce reverence while paradoxically preaching peace and love.
HOW MUCH OF BLUE
This performance portrays my foolishness where I purportedly failed to understand
which and how much each element was believed constitutes the identity of this state.
So, I tried to find the answer by observing the fight between the audience and me.
The audience was allowed to paint the canvas with 3 colors; blue, red, or white
while I painted only with blue and keep erasing other colors off the canvas.
The result of this performance surprised me when the canvas turned black and no one was able to paint on it anymore.
BREATH, BREATHING, BREATHE
The effort to purify the air that I breathe reflects the connection between Bangkok and me, when fresh air is no longer free for everyone.
The actions, taking turns between each participant and me, depicts the struggle for dominance on this playground.
Any deeds done by the audience was reciprocated in kind;
When the audience threw a ball at me, I threw it back.
When they put a ball into the pit, I put it out.
When they moved the pit to the left, I moved it to the right.
The confrontation between the power holder and the weaker, in this scenario, causes a never-ending battle. When one side is winning, the other is losing unavoidably.
